1. Check the wall

Case 1: Cement walls. Comprehensively check whether the cement walls that need to be painted in the rough room are solid and flat. If the plastering layer on the wall is not strong enough or there are large cracks and holes, it is recommended to complain to the developer or the property and ask them to redo it. If individual holes are repaired by yourself, plaster can be used to fill them. If the flatness of the wall is poor (the error is greater than plus or minus 5mm), plaster leveling should be considered first.

Case 2: Putty wall. Be sure to check whether the wall putty is qualified putty, if not, you must shovel and redo the putty. Other items are the same as Case 1.

Note: Swipe the wall with a hard object to know whether the wall is firm or not.

2. Finished product protection

Since it is inevitable that there will be dust when the wall is treated, and putty, paint or other glue will drip when the putty is applied, so before decorating the wall, be sure to do a good job of protecting other finished products in the room. Generally, you can buy plastic paper of a suitable size in a convenience store, and wrap the finished product that needs to be protected on the construction site.

Note: Especially for valuables that are easily dirty, it is necessary to protect them so as not to leave regrets.

3. Preparation before scraping putty/plaster

Make sure that the wall is solid and flat, and use a steel brush or other tools to clean the wall, so that the cement wall is free from floating soil and floating dust as much as possible. Roll the concrete interface agent on the wall (individual walls may need to stick cloth) as evenly as possible, and after it is dry (usually more than 2 hours), you can scrape the putty/plaster.

Note: The new wall needs a 28-day cement curing period before the putty can be scraped.

4. Scrape putty or paste tiles

1. If you want to scrape putty in batches, generally you can scrape the putty twice on the wall. The wall with poor flatness needs to be scraped several times locally. If it is more serious, you need to use gypsum to level it first. The batch of putty should be dried on the previous layer of putty. Can be scraped later.

2. If the wall is pasted with tiles, directly level it with plastering mortar, and then use tile glue to lay the tiles.

Note: Choose water-resistant putty batch scraping, this product is very strong, water-resistant, not easy to peel and crack. Moreover, good water-resistant putty does not need to be removed at the base layer during the second decoration, and the construction performance is better.

5. Sand the putty

After the water-resistant putty is fully strengthened (5-7 days), it will become extremely solid, and it will be extremely difficult to sand at this time. Therefore, it is recommended that the putty be sanded immediately after it dries. Sanding is optional. At night, use a light bulb of more than 200 watts to be close to the wall for lighting (you also need to use a light bulb to level it during the day), and check the levelness while sanding.

Note: When sanding putty, a lot of dust will be generated, please prepare a mask in advance.

6. Brush the primer

Before brushing the primer, you need to clean up the sanding dust. The primer can be painted once, and it must be uniform. After drying (2-4 hours), proceed to the next step.

Note: It is best to wait for the putty to dry before applying the primer.

7. Brush the top coat

The topcoat is usually brushed 2 times, and it is allowed to dry after 2-4 hours after the first brush. After the second brush, it will take 1-2 days to completely dry. Before drying, pay attention to waterproof, drought and sun protection.

Note: Please refer to the water mixing instructions for the amount of water added to the paint. Do not add too much water.

8. Acceptance

The surviving wall should be firm, flat, with vertical yin and yang angles, no cracks, no voids, uniform color, and full paint film.
